Description

We describe in this paper some of the main laboratory results concerning amorphous carbon production and organic ice irradiation. The experimental data are used to reproduce P/Halley's and other cometary IR spectra. The results indicate that the above mentioned materials appear to be among the best candidates to simulate the actual carbonaceous and organic components in comets
