Description
We apply Dirac's method of quantization in the presence of constraints to the two-dimensional scalar bag. The earlier results of Chodos, Jaffe, Johnson, Thorn, and Weisskopf are reproduced, and a new parametrization of relevance to the construction of a local field operator in the bag model is presented. The generally parametrized form of the theory and the difficulties encountered in the approach to equal-time quantization are discussed
