Cumulative proton production in pd→ppn reaction at high energies
Description
The spectrum of the backward emitted slow proton in deuteron exclusive disintegration induced by high-energy protons (p0 <or approx. 100 GeV/c) is calculated taking into account the long-range processes inside the deuteron: impulse approximation, elastic and inelastic shadow corrections, and final state interactions. The proton spectrum in the cumulative region is shown to be sensitive to these mechanisms and to the D-wave admixture to the deuteron wave function
