Review of the plant, operational experience and status of nuclear power in Switzerland

The problems of the initial years of operation have led to various improvements and the experience thereby accumulated has enabled excellent generation results to be attained in the subsequent years. Analyses of non-availability indicate the crucial importance of annual shut-down to plant utilization. Prerequisites for a successful and short shutdown are timely planning, as realistic as possible establishment of dates for work on the critical path and the implementation of effective measures to adhere to these dates. In 30 operating years no incidents related to technical safety have occurred and no person has suffered radiation dosage stronger than legally permissible. (orig.)
