Determination of rock-forming elements in the presence of large amounts of uranium and zirconium using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry
Description
Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry was used for the analyses of silicates containing major amounts of uranium and zirconium. A lithium metaborate fusion was used to dissolve the samples in which the following compounds were determined: silica, alumina, titania, iron oxide (total), lime, magnesia, uranium, manganese and zirconium. Synthetic solutions were used for the calibration, and the instrumental stability was increased by the use of scandium as an internal standard. (author)
