  • 1. Royal Observatory, Edinburgh (UK)
  • 2. US Naval Observatory, Flagstaff, AZ (USA)
  • 3. Anglo-Australian Observatory, Coonabarabran (Australia). UK Schmidt Telescope

Description

The IRAS point source 10479-2808 is a quasar with BJ ∼ 16 and z = 0.190. It is not in the Parkes and Molonglo radio catalogues. At the resolution of the UK and ESO Schmidt telescopes it appears to be star-like, with no sign of surrounding fuzz or interactions; it is probably optically variable. (author)
