Depolarization enhancement due to the energy spread
Description
A new semiclassical and stochastic model of spin diffusion is used to obtain numerical predictions for depolarization enhancement due to beam energy spread. It confirms the results of previous models. For LEP, at Z0 energy, the enhancement is of the order of a few units and increases very rapidly with the energy spread as it would be the case if wigglers would be used. This effect makes more difficult to obtain a high degree of polarization
