Linear and nonlinear absorption of LaGaO3 crystal doped with cobalt

Description

Crystals of LaGaO3 doped with cobalt were grown by the Czochralski method. Recorded absorption spectra indicate, that the cobalt ions form mixed valency system. The density of Co2+ ions increased after heating the samples in atmosphere of hydrogen. Changes in transmission of LaGaO3:Co2+ absorber as a function of power density was measured. Based on ESA absorber model, the absorption cross section, concentration of active centers, relaxation time, saturation energy and nonactive losses have been estimated. (author)
