Description

A low-temperature anomaly of the conduction electron orbital magnetism in the Cdsub(1-x)Mgsub(x)(X<0.02) alloys has been experimentally studied under the pressure up to 1800 atm and at the temperature of 20.4 K. The effective temperature T, characterizing scattering on the magnesium impurity in a constant component of magnetic susceptibility has been determined. The experimental unit represented the torsion balance with autocompensation. The measurements have been carried out in the magnetic field with the intensity of 3-7 kOe. The pressure-induced realization of 2.5 order electronic phase transitions permitted to estimate using the conception of effective temperature the effect of scattering due to magnesium impurity in the cadmium matrix in the orbital magnetism: T=13+-1 K/at.% Mg. The magnesium impurity is shown to lead not only to the additional scattering but to the change of effective potential in the alloy
