Description
A detector based on GaAs solid-state technology may provide a number of advantages for WIMP detection. In addition to low backgrounds, good energy resolution, and room temperature operation, it may also be possible to produce GaP detectors and interleave them between GaAs detectors in the same shield, thus providing a means to verify a possible signal as originating from WIMP interactions. Such a detector also would provide 100 % sensitivity to spin-dependent WIMPs. (authors)
