Description
The analysis of the ion transfer of separate glass components (boron, zinc, lead) into water carried out by the luminescent method has made it possible to establish that the maximum total and selective moisture resistance of the glass of the B2O3-ZnO-PbO system is provided at the following concentrations of the components: PbO-up to 15 mol.%, B2O3-from 35 to 50 mol.%, ZnO-from 40 to 55 mol.%. Considerable variations of the moisture resistance within given region of the B2O3-ZnO-PbO system may be explained by the following structural changes: by transition of boron from the ternary to quaternary coordination and by the built-in of the zinc and lead ions into the glass structural network
