With the increasing use of electromagnetic waves in communication, medicine, broadcasting, the military and industry, their impact on human health has gradually attracted attention despite their convenience to human daily life. The study of biological effects of electromagnetic waves is of great significance and value in elucidating their possible effects on the human body and exploring effective medical protective measures. The model organism, Caenorhabditis elegans, plays an important role in the study of biological effects of electromagnetic waves due to its unique advantages. In this paper, the biological effects of electromagnetic waves on C. elegans are summarized in terms of growth and development, reproductive ability, body function and genes in order to provide reference for more fruitful studies of electromagnetic biological effects.
