Radiation environment in the agroindustrial economy of the Gomel' region in 1987

Urgent problems to be solved in 1987 in the Gomel' region were: to estimate environmental radiation, to evaluate the maximum acceptable contamination level in agricultural areas, as well as to create an effective control system in AIC enterprises. A data bank and software are provided to solve these problems. In particular, the methods of mapping and interpolation of contamination density functions, packages for drawing maps of contaminated rural areas. Maps of radio-Cs-contaminated Gomel' regions were drawn. Dependence of the specific activity of milk on radioecological concentration in meadows and pastures is reported. Some practical recommendations have been developed for final cattle fattening which allow effective use of forage with elevated radiocesium content. 2 figs., 1 tab
