Description
In the international safeguards system, the national authorities are charged with the task to make all the necessary provisions for efficient surveillance by the international inspectors. For the EC countries, Euratom as a European institution performs the task of the national supervising authorities. Experience so far has shown that cooperation between the two supervising authorities has proved successful without causing further inconvenience to utilities. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Nationale Ueberwachungsbehoerden haben im Rahmen des internationalen Ueberwachungssystems die Aufgabe, alle Voraussetzungen fuer eine wirksame Kontrolle durch die internationalen Inspektoren zu schaffen. Fuer die Staaten der Europaeischen Gemeinschaft nimmt Euratom als europaeische Institution die Aufgaben der nationalen Ueberwachungsbehoerden wahr. Nach den vorliegenden Erfahrungen hat sich das Zusammenwirken beider Ueberwachungsinstitutionen ohne zusaetzliche Belastungen fuer die Betreiber kerntechnischer Anlagen eingespielt.
