Reliability of the CDFR emergency decay heat removal system following loss of grid supplies
Description
Revised safety and reliability criteria for the Commercial Demonstration Fast Reactor (CDFR), together with numerous design changes, have required the re-evaluation of the unavailability on demand of the EDHR system following loss of grid supplies. Comparisons between the programs PREP KITT and ALMONA for calculating the unavailability on demand of the 415v GI supplies have shown excellent agreement to date. The EDHR system unavailability on demand did not exceed 5*10/sup -6/, providing pony motors were operational, although a concerted effort will be required to improve the accuracy of reliability data
