Description

Objective: To study the efficacy of interventional therapy combined with continues intravenous injection in liver metastases from gastric carcinoma. Methods: One hundred and forty-five patients with metastases from gastric carcinoma were undergone selectivearteriography, ultraselective gastric arteriography and hepatic arteriography after chemical treatment and chemoembolization. Blood supply types of metastatic tumors of liver were observed and metastic tumors were perfused and embolized through hepatic arteries. Results: In these cases there were 86 hypervascular cases with effective rate of in 88.37%; 59 hypovascular cases with effective rate 49.42%. There was signiticant difference between both types (P<0.05). The meso-life span of patients with hypervascular metastatic tumor was 16.5 months while that of patients with hypervascular metastatic tumor was 9.2 months. The meso-life span of patients with hypervascular metastatic tumor was longer obviously than that of patients with pervascular metastatic tumor (P<0.05). Conclusion: Arterial periasion and arterial chemoembolization are effective in the treatment of metastatic tumors of liver from gastric cancer. The theraputic effieacy of hypervascular metastatic tumor is better than that of hypovascular metastic tumor. (authors)
