Description
CT scans were done in 51 cases with extremity tumorous conditions at the department of radiology. Kyung Pook National University Hospital from January 1985 to June 1988. CT provide useful information leading to a correct diagnosis in 13.0% of the bone lesions and in 16.0% of the soft tissue lesions. Malignant neoplasms could be differentiated from benign neoplasms in 90.0% of the cases. In 82.4% the extent of the lesion was clearly defined. 15.7% of the lesions were detected only by CT. The information provided by CT played important role making the clinical management planning in 78.4% of the case. Our study suggest that CT will be useful for extremity tumorous conditions by demonstrating the extent of lesion and for treatment planning especially if it involves the soft tissue alone or soft tissue and bone together
