Application of gamma radiation to the study on density variations in foam-coke mass in the process of coke formation

Description

The possibility of automatization of control at oil refineries by means of measurement by gamma-radiation of coke and foam levels in the reactor, and also of the rate of formation of the coke pie is studied. The scheme of radiation detection is given, the results of measurements of foam and coke levels are presented. The measurement is based on the recording of the qamma-radiation flux that passes successively through vapor, foam and coke and hits the detector
