Histoenzymological study of periosteal and muscular vascularization during a fracture in irradiated mice

Description
In this histoenzymological study the periosteal and muscular vessel network was localized precisely. The technique of revealing ATP ase activity allows a better interpretation of topographical colorations. Arteriole and capillary lesions were detected on the fourth day in animals subjected to a fracture combined with a 650 rad whole-body irradiation as compared with mice suffering only from fracture. Muscle capillaries on the other hand seem insensitive to irradiation within the limits of the method

Cette etude histoenzymologique a permis de localiser avec precision le reseau vasculaire perioste et musculaire. La technique de mise en evidence de l'activite ATPasique permet une meilleure interpretation des colorations topographiques. Des lesions arteriolaires et capillaires ont ete mises en evidence au quatrieme jour chez les animaux ayant subi une fracture combinee a une irradiation corporelle totale de 650 rads par rapport aux souris ne presentant qu'une fracture.
