On composition change of oxide surfaces at ion irradiation
- 1. Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Fiziko-Khimicheskij Inst., Moscow (USSR)
Description
Composition change of BaTiO3 and PbTiO3 crystal sputtered surface irradiated by 5 keV argon ion beams is investigated. Auger-electron spectra are taken before and after irradiation from the cleavage surface. It is shown that with increasing radiation time titanium is accumulated on the surface of both crystals. As it is supposed the segregation observed is due to radiation-induced titanium depth diffusion
