The alterations of the beam optical path, installation and alignment problems of the beam optical components and high voltage test of the 6 MV tandem accelerator which has been developed in Shanghai Institute of Nuclear Research are described. The reasons of breakdown accidents of the Laddertron and the multi-layer bellows are analysed. Appropriate measures have been taken
