Measurement of the electron-positron annihilation cross-section into π+π- at the energies 915, 990 and 1076MeV
Description
The e+e-→π+π- cross-section has been measured at the centre of mass energies 915, 990 and 1076MeV. This region is intermediate between the previously studied rho region and the higher energy data of Frascati and Novosibirsk. One finds the experimental points to lie higher than the values expected from the p-wave fit on the rho tail. The same effect was observed at Frascati and Novosibirsk in the energy range 1180-1400MeV. This deviation is analyzed in terms of a higher vector meson contribution to the π form-factor
