Interaction of 960 MeV/nucleon 238U ions with target atoms of a soda-lime glass

Description
We have studied the interactions of relativistic 238U ions with light atoms of soda-lime glass. In this paper only preliminary results are presented. The 'range' and 'mean free path' determined in the present experiment have been compared with the corresponding theoretical values, showing a reasonably good agreement. Further work is under progress. (author)
