Correlation analysis in physical chemistry of lanthanide trivalent ion compounds

Description
A correlation between different properties of lanthanide compounds and the number of f-electrons in a lanthanide ion shell is established as well as quantum numbers S, L of the ground state, expressed by the ratio: Asub(Ln)=Asub(La)+αNsub(f)+#betta#S+#betta#'Lsub(1-6)(+#betta#''Lsub(8-13)), where Asub(Ln), Asub(La)=one of physicochemical properties of Lnsup(3+); Nsub(f), S, Lthe number of f-electrons and quantum numbers of the main state; α, #betta#, #betta#' and #betta#''= correlation coefficients. Using as an example determination of stability constants of lanthanide complexes with DTPA and reduction potentials for the reaction Lnsup(3+)→Lnsup(0)-3 anti e according to the given expression and experimentally the validity of the correlation ratio is shown
