Description
To get information about primary spectrum and composition at least 3 parameters of EAS are to be measured: size, primary energy, number of muons. It was pointed out (Krasilnikov, 1973), that Cerenkov light density at a core distance of 400 m may be taken for the primary energy equivalent. In this paper we attemp to consider the total Cerenkov light flux as a measure of the electron energy loss, Esub(i). Taking assumptions as in (Chudakov, Zatsepin, 1962) we get an estimation: Esub(i)/phi = 3.5 x 104 eV/phot. eV-1 if the effective depth of the shower maximum is approximately 600-700 g.cm-2 (Diminstein et al., 1975 d). Phi is the total light flux per unit (1 eV) interval. (orig./WL)
Abstract (German)
Es werden mindestens 3 Parameter von EAS gemessen, um Informationen ueber ihr Primaerspektrum und ihre Zusammensetzung zu erhalten: Groesse, Primaerenergie, Zahl der Myonen. Es wurde schon darauf hingewiesen (Krasilnikov 1973), dass die Cerenkov-Lichtdichte in einer Entfernung von 400 m zum Kern als Primaerenergieaequivalent angenommen werden kann. In der vorliegenden Arbeit soll der totale Cerenkov-Lichtfluss als Mass fuer den Elektronenenergieverlust Esub(i) dienen. Unter den gleichen Voraussetzungen wie (Chudakov, Zatsepin, 1962) erhaelt man eine Schaetzung Esub(i)/phi = 3,5 x 104 eV/phot. eV-1, wenn die effektive Tiefe des Schauermaximums ca. 600-700 g.cm-2 betraegt (Diminstein et al., 1975 d).
