Description
The computed radiography (CR) system with an imaging plate has been widely used in diagnostic radiography. Recently, imaging plate detectors are also being used in other fields as a two-dimensional detector for radiation. This study could show imaging of scattered X-rays from the object or patients in diagnostic radiography, using a pinhole camera and a CR system. Utilizing the high sensitivity and wide dynamic range characteristics of the CR system made it possible to obtain image scattered X-rays. The results of this study indicated that scattered X-rays were much generated to a great extent from the primary X-rays incident side of the object and were greatly generated from low density materials such as water, muscular and fatty tissues compared with high density materials such as a contrast medium and bones, and images of the scattered X-rays from patients in diagnostic radiography were able to be obtained.
