Description

Measurements of lineal energy distribution in a wall-less tissue equivalent proportional counter were employed using C ion (290 MeV/u), Ar ion (500 MeV/u) and He ion (150 MeV/u). Replacement of the detection parts with larger sensitive volume resulted in the improvement of the energy resolution of the wall-less tissue-equivalent proportional counter (TEPC). The effect of the structural materials on energy deposition spectra was observed in the case of C-290 MeV/u beam irradiation. (author)
