Geophysical neutron GAMMA process for determining the properties of earth formations surrounding a borehole

Description

The borehole sensor has a neutron source, which sends out neutron pulses. The hydrogen, chlorine and oxygen gamma radiation is detected using a detector at three different time intervals. From these measured signals one can draw conclusions on the ratio of hydrocarbons (oil) to saltwater and freshwater in the surrounding formation and in the borehole. Parts of the electronic equipment and the detector are situated inside the sensor. (DG)

Abstract (German)

(DG)
