Low-temperature synthesis of β-Ga2O3 nanorods on SBA-15 microparticles by solvothermal method

Description
Crystalline β-Ga2O3 nanorods have been prepared from GaCl3 and humid SBA-15 microparticles (SMP) at low temperature (280-300 deg. C) using the solvothermal method. The as-synthesized product was characterized by x-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and room-temperature photoluminescence (PL). Formation mechanisms related to the β-Ga2O3 nanorods on SMP are suggested. The room-temperature PL spectrum of the β-Ga2O3 nanorods shows a strong blue luminescence (BL) band centred at 400 nm, which is ascribed to be the recombination of surface states
