One of the unique features of this Congress, is that it provides a forum for practitioners from the host country to describe local and unique applications of high speed photography, fifty percent of the papers were presented by local scientists and engineers. The high proportion of contributions relating to the mining industry emphasises South Africa's leading role in this field.
