Description
In order to describe the mass split in cold fission we propose a generator-coordinate ansatz for the wave function of the fissioning nucleus with two gauge angles as generator coordinates. They shall be chosen in such a way that in the limit of two separated fragments one obtains BCS wave-functions projected onto sharp particle numbers in each fragment and in the limit of a compact shape the ansatz shall result in a BCS function with projection on a sharp total particle number only. Finally a generalization of the usual static Hill-Wheeler method to time-dependent problems is presented
