Synthesis and Structural Characterization of a Cobalt Coordination Polymer Assembled by Bis(4-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)methanone and Phthalate

  • 1. Department of Applied Chemistry, Yuncheng University (China)

Description

A cobalt coordination polymer with the formula of {[Co(L1)(pa)]}n (1) (L1 = bis(4-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)methanone, H2pa = phthalic acid) was synthesized under solvothermal condition. It was characterized by infrared spectroscopy, elemental and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Crystal 1 is monoclinic, the space group is P21/c with the unit cell parameters a = 8.1394(2), b = 25.7199(5), c = 15.1719(4) Å, β = 117.554(2)°, Z = 4; R1 = 0.0405 and wR2 = 0.0953 (I > 2σ). In 1, [Co2(pa)2] bridged by pa2– anions are linked by four adjacent L1 ligands and form 2D layers.
