On the strain accumulation at thermal cycling with moving level of heat-transfer liquid
Description
The actual temperature fields in some fast reactor core components under certain conditions prove to be close to the quasi-stationary ones. This increases the probability of their geometry changes which may clearly endanger the serviceability of a structure and lead to its collapse. Some results of theoretical analysis in this field and corresponding experimental data are discussed. The analysis shows that the cyclic temperature stresses if not local ones have to be attributed to the general stress category as they can lead to essential changes in geometry of a structure.
