Physical and chemical characterization of the (Th, U)O2 mixed oxide fuel
Description
The Nuclebras R and D Center (Centro de Desenvolvimento da Tecnologia Nuclear - CDTN) has been performing, together with german institutions (Kernforschungsanlage Juelich GmbH - KFA, Kraftwerk Union A.G. KWU NUKEM Gmbh), a program for utilization of thorium in pressurized water reactors. In this paper are presented the physical and chemical chacterizations necessary to qualify the (Tn, U)O2 and the respective methods. (Author)

O Centro de P e D da Nuclebras (Centro de Desenvolvimento da Tecnologia Nuclear - CDTN) vem realizando com instituicoes alemas (Kerforschungsanlage Juelich GmbH - KFA, Kraftwerk Union A.G. - KWU e NUKEM GmbH) um programa para utilizacao de torio em reatores do tipo a agua leve pressurizada. Sao apresentadas neste trabalho as caracterizacoes fisica e quimica necessarias a qualificacao do combustivel de oxido misto (Th,U)O2, e os respectivos metodos. (Autor)Files
