Description

The original intent of the Babcock and Wilcox Company (B and W) Hot Cell Faclity was to support the B and W Test Reactor (BAWTR) and to examine capsule experiments irradiated in the BAWTR. After 15 years, the facility now consists of four hot cells and several laboratories for examining material with low levels of radioactivity. The workload has also changed dramatically from refueling and capsule work to field failure analysis and postirradiation examination of commercial fuel assemblies
