Stark broadening studies of the infrared OI multiplet 3p 5P-3d 5Do

  • 1. Institute of Physics, Opole University, ul. Oleska 48, 45-052 Opole (Poland)

Description

Experimental line broadening studies of the infrared OI multiplet 3p 5P-3d 5Do are reported. Stark broadening parameters, electron-impact widths (w) and shifts (d) as well as asymmetry (A), are determined applying a wall-stabilized high-current arc as the plasma source. Broadening studies are performed in the electron density range 0.8 x 1016-1.4 x 1016 cm-3, corresponding to plasma temperatures from 12 000 to 13 800 K. The obtained broadening and shift parameters, normalized to the standard electron density value of 1 x 1016 cm-3, are compared with results of calculations reported in a 1974 monograph by Griem.
