Proceeding of the 21th technical meeting on nuclear reactor and radiation for KURRI engineers and the 12th Technical Official Group Section 5 meeting in Kyoto University

This paper summarizes the main contents chosen from the three special lectures and five technical presentations related to nuclear reactor and radiation. In the special lecture 'Laboratory life for over 40 years,' based on the experiences on the troubles of KUR heavy water equipment and heat exchange equipment, soundness survey on reactor core tank, refurbishment of heavy water facility, and study on cold neutrons and ultra-cold neutrons, the significance of management and research support was reported. In the technological representation 'Fuel transport pipes,' inspection method and precaution for fuel transport pipes that are performed as a periodic voluntary inspection were introduced, and the importance of daily management was stressed. In the 'Plant at a research reactor laboratory,' measures for the weight reduction of a vacuum chamber, which was recently introduced, were introduced. In the 'Fuel control room assignment,' the contents of recently revised laws, and the revision of the nuclear protection provisions and the updating and renovation of nuclear protection equipment associated with the law revision were reported. In the 'Renovation of freezing and remelting processing device,' along with the principle and performance of this device, the work to update the material of brine piping to stainless steel for the purpose of preventive maintenance to prevent trouble in advance was explained.
