Open charm and beauty production at HERA

Description
Measurements on open charm and beauty production in ep collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of √S = 300 GeV performed by the H1 experiment at HERA are presented. Final states containing charm are identified by the reconstruction of D*± meson while events containing muons and at least two jets were used to select a data sample enriched with beauty. The results cover the region of four-momentum transfer squared Q2 from photoproduction (Q2 ∼ 0) to deep inelastic scattering at large Q2. The experimental results are compared with theoretical prediction based on QCD calculations
