Spectral splitting of high-order harmonic emissions from ionizing gases

  • 1. Laboratory for High Intensity Optics, Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai 201800 (China)

Description

Combining the one-dimensional propagation equation and wavelet transform of the dipole of an atom in an intense laser field, the spectra of harmonics generated and propagated in an ionizing noble gas have been analyzed. It shows that the spectral lines of harmonics exhibit broadening, blueshifting, and splitting into two peaks owing to the rapid ionization of gases and make the spectra of high-order harmonic emissions become quasicontinuum in the higher-order region
