Description
C6H4(OH)2 was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. The crystal and molecular structure of the title compound was determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n (number 14). The quinol has two hydrogen-bond donors and molecules lie on inversion centres
