Development of a laser ion source for the TIARA-ISOL
- 1. Japan Atomic Energy Research Inst., Takasaki, Gunma (Japan). Takasaki Radiation Chemistry Research Establishment
Description
Development of a laser ion source has been started for the TIARA-ISOL at JAERI/Takasaki. The combination of the element-selective laser ion source and the mass separator will enable to provide a mono-isotopic beam. This system will be an useful tool for the study of nuclei far from stability close to the limit of nuclear existence. (author)
