Atomic cross sections for fast Xe/sup q+/ and U/sup q+/ ions colliding with atoms and molecules
Description
A number of high-velocity, upper bound atomic cross sections for collisions of xenon and uranium ions with atoms and molecules are presented. Upper bound cross sections for ionization of H2N2, Li, and Ne targets by impact of fast Xe and U ions are given. A sum-rule formalism within the context of the Born approximation was used to calculate the cross sections
