Reaction of NaGaH4 with 1-alkenes in the presence of compounds of transition metals

Description
The authors find that the hydrogallation of 1-alkenes by sodium tetrahydrogallate in tetrahydrofuran (THF) leads to the formation of tetra-n-alkylgallates in the presence of titanium- and zirconium-containing catalysts under mild conditions. The activity of the catalysts increases in the series C-2T /SUB i/ (GaEt3)2≤Cp2ZrCl2<Cp2TiCl2 <Cp2Ti (AlEt3)
