Determination of cadmium nitrate solubility in water at high pressures by electric conductivity method

  • 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)

Description

The electric conductivity method was applied to determine the effect of pressure up to 700 MPa on the solubility of cadmium nitrate in water at 348 K in the range of concentrations close enough to the dystectics of the crystallohydrate Cd(NO3)2x4H2O. An increase in pressure results in a solubility decrease (to be more precise, to an increase in the qUantity of solid phase separated from solution): from 86.5 wt % at atmospheric pressure to 67.7 Wt % at a pressure of 680 MPa. At lower concentrations of solution certain difficulties in determining the pressure for complete dissolution of the solid crystallohydrate Cd(NO3)2x4H2O arise
