Description
The method is recommended of electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation for the study of kinetics of long-term heat treatment of austenitic corrosion resistant steels and alloys, and its possible uses discussed at operating temperatures of steam generators of fast reactors. An algorithm is proposed for the calculation of the varying thickness of the heat affected zone at grain edges using the values of reactivation charge measured on samples with different exposure to thermal effects. Studied materials and measurement procedures are discussed. The said algorithm may be used to advantage for predicting corrosion behaviour of used alloys and steels. (J.C.)
