Description

The L-shell x-ray intensity ratios I(Lsub(l))/I(Lsub(α)), I(Lsub(β))/I(Lsub(α)), I(Lsub(γ))/I(Lsub(α)) for tungsten (W) and I(Lsub(l))/I(Lsub(α)), I(Lsub(eta))/I(Lsub(α)), I(Lsub(β))/I(Lsub(α)), I(Lsub(γ))/I(Lsub(α)) for mercury (Hg) have been measured at 17.8, 25.8 and 46.9 keV with a Si(Li) detector. A comparison is made of the experimental results with the calculated values obtained by using the theoretical x-ray emission rates, subshell ionisation cross sections, subshell fluorescence yields and Coster-Kronig transition probabilities. The experimental results are in reasonable agreement with the theoretical values. (author)
