Treatment of radioactive wastes at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, Hungary
Description
A brief overview is given of the origin and generation of liquid and solid wastes at the Paks NPP. The treatments of low and medium level radioactive wastes, and those of liquid effluents from the NPP are described, and the final disposal possibilities of wastes are discussed. Special attention is given to the selection of the disosal site, and to the licensing procedure of solid wastes as prompted by the case of the Ofalu disposal site in Hungary. (R.P.)
