Description
The field of low energy nuclear physics has seen an upswing with the emergence of radioactive ion beams (RIB). Apart from nuclear physics and astrophysics, RIB opens up new areas in materials research, biology and new radioisotope research. I will present an overview of the RIB facility at VECC, discuss the beams developed so far and possible studies using the facility. An outline of the next generation facility ANURIB - a facility for applied and nuclear research using RIB, will also be presented. (author)
