Spectroscopic factors and occupation numbers of 3s protons in lead isotopes

Description
Precise relative spectroscopic factors for 3s proton removal have been measured with the (d,3He) reactions on 206Pb and 208Pb at 52 MeV. We find (i) configuration mixing in 205Tl as an explanation for the reported ''quenching'' of the 3s single particle density in the charge difference between 206Pb and 205Tl and (ii) comparable 3s proton occupation numbers in 206Pb and 208Pb.
