Electrostatic beam blanking systems

  • 1. Institute of Electronics at The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Boul. Lenin 72, Sofia 1184 (Bulgaria)

Description

Electrostatic beam blanking systems are widely used in beam optics. Their characteristics (speed, damped oscillations, and position with respect to the optical axis) determine the optical and technological parameters of the beam-handling system. The proposed configuration of the blanking system uses signals which have rise times smaller than 10-10 to 10-9 s and amplitudes 10--102 V. Moreover, the screening of the blanking system is ensured by the cylindrical form of one of the electrodes
